Is diamond a stone?

Surely, the question has arisen for you so far, is another name for diamonds, or is diamonds the name of a stone, or what is the difference between diamonds and diamonds?
Contrary to popular belief, diamonds are not the name of a stone, but only a type of cut that any stone such as diamond, ruby, spinel, etc. can be cut with this model. In other words, diamond is a type of lathe that has the following characteristics.
Shapes or small surfaces carved on the surface of the stone called facets have shapes such as triangles, rhombuses or kites.
Crown or crown which is the upper part of the stone.
Pavilion or in Persian’s sandalwood, which is called the lower part of the stone.
The boundary between the Crown and the Pavilion, or in other words the dividing plane of these two parts, is called the Girdle or Persian edge.
